The comparability of data stored in 2DOC is avouched by the concept of 'definition data'. To put it simply, this can be understood as a definition of lists of terms for every field, which contain the values available for that field. Thus data gathering is easier and less error-prone. Also that ensures, that identical facts are always labeled in the same way. But not only the denotation is defined and standardized through the concept of 'definition data', also the graphical presentation of the data in charts and diagrams is defined already here. So one entity is always displayed in the same way.

2DOC enables the recording of measurements of various geotechnical instruments. As far as it is reasonable and feasible it is possible to import data directly from available files. Time-distance diagrams and specific forms of representation facilitate the interpretation of the measurements. The presentation of values from different departments develop an overall picture of the situation in the tunnel.

But not only numbers and readings find their way into 2DOC, also geotechnical observations or damage documentation can be fed into the 2DOC database. The covered types and their characteristics can be defined by the specialists themselves. So 2DOC offers a wide scope concerning the nature of the observed facts and the way of concrete gathering in 2DOC.

Also cracks, chipping and other damage with their descriptive parameters (length and width of the crack) and their geometry can be captured in 2DOC. Thus, a complete documentation of the geotechnical conditions in the tunnel is possible.

Pressure cells
Pressure cells play an important role when building tunnel according to the NATM and are essential for the evaluation of the effectiveness of support measures taken. 2doc allows the collection of data from pressure cells and provides the possibility to display the measured values in diagrams. Of course all pressure cells within one measuring profile can be displayed together.

Extensometer

Extensometerdarstellung in 2DOCWith several possibilities of graphical presentations 2doc provides the possibility to evaluate the data coming from extensometers and measuring anchors. The common time/length diagram and the schematic visualization allow a quick assessment of the geotechnical situation. In combination with georeferenced heading face sketches (coming from the theme geological heading face documentation) or with heading face orthophotos 2doc provides additional geological/geotechnical information to support this assessment. Data can be entered manually or imported from several different file formats.

Distometer
Data coming from distometer measurements that are used for assessment of the convergence behavior of the tunnel can be integrated in 2doc similar to those of other geotechnical measurements. Especially in combination with data from other 2doc themes (e.g. 3D subsurface displacement measurement) the time/distance trend measured with distometers and visualized in 2doc can ease the task of assessing the behavior of the surrounding rock mass. As with all other 2doc themes data from distometer measurements can be easily included in reports and this way be communicated among the project team.

Strain gauges
Especially in combination with pressure cells strain gauges can bear important indications for answering questions regarding the use of shotcrete. Data from strain gauges can be integrated in 2doc via manual data entry or imported from various file formats. For graphical presentation several different time/strain diagrams are available. In Reports those diagrams are often combined with data from pressure cells or from other geotechnical sensors and that way they provide a full documentation of a measurement profile.

Inclinometers

Poldarstellung von Inklinometerdaten in 2DOCWith this theme 2doc allows the gathering of inclinometer data for inclinometers in boreholes on the surface as well as in boreholes in the tunnel. 2doc supports vertically as well as horizontally installed inclinometers. Data can be entered manually or imported from various different file formats. All common inclinometer diagrams can be generated. With various parameters those diagrams can be adapted to the user's needs, i.e. main movement direction, fix-point selection etc.

Anchor load cells
2doc allows the integration of data coming from anchor load cells. Manual data entry as well as import from various file formats is supported. Of course zero readings are corrected in all evaluations. Time/load diagrams allow a quick overview of the load trend. Using reports the data can be easily communicated.

Damage documentation
The theme damage documentation is used to document damages observed in the tunnel e.g. cracks or spallings on the inner shell etc. Besides general informations, photos and detailed informations on the observed damage can be documented. The documented damages can be visualized in tunnel tapes together with the geological situation and the support measures used at that specific location. This helps in the search for the cause of the damage and helps choosing the right counter measure if necessary. Statistical evaluations like the number of damages in per geological homogeneous division, provide a quick overview on the damage situation in the tunnel. Besides being a valuable tool in course of the tunnel driving the damage documentation theme is also used during operation of the tunnel to keep track of observed damages.

Geotechnical Observations

Geotechnische Beobachtungen in 2DOCThe theme geotechical observation is used to document abnormalities and noticable problems in the field of geotechnics. With the possibility to build a classification system for geotechnical observations 2doc provides a quick and flexible way to document those observations and visualize the data in reports, analyses, tunnel tapes etc. As within all other 2doc themes images and other documents can be stored with each geotechnical observation.
