The knowledge of early warning and prediction informations is advantageous to reduce hazardous geo-risks, in particular for tunnelling projects with tunnel boring machines (TBM), since accidents or complications and hence expensive drivage standstills can be prevented. Since investigations from the earth's surface can not provide detailed informations about risks as detection and accurate location of drivage-relevant fault/fracture and karst zones, high permeability water or gas (methane) bearing zones, open cavities and different kind of softground, new methods of investigation are being used.

In recognition of this reality 2DOC offers themes to integrate results of these methodes, so prediction and real conditions found can be compared to improve future predicts.

Seismical Investigations

According to the velocity distribution of elastic waves, which have been generated through an (mechanical) impact, stratigraphic boundaries , rock types, fault zones, water horizons, weathering zones, underground caverns, etc. can be identified. A seismic class for a certain section can be deduced from the results by specialists, which helps to estimate the geology and rock mechanical properties in front of and in the vicinity of the face. 2DOC is able to record those seismic classes, beside documents as analyses, protocols, etc.). The seismic classes can be plottet in the tunnel tape.

BEAM

To collect the values, which are determined using Bore-Tunnelling Electrical Ahead Monitoring (BEAM), 2DOC provides the theme BEAM. It is possible to store the Percentage Frequency Effect (P.F.E.) [%] and the electrical resistivity [Ohm] for each station. It is possible to import those values from external files. Both values can be plotted as lines in the tunneltape.
