The 2DOC themes concerning surveying are a good example for the interdisciplinary analyzability of all the stored information in 2DOC. In particular diagrams it is possible to display surface surveying readings together with subsurface surveying readings. Especially on drives with less coverings in in the vicinity of buildings this is an highly interesting and valuable source of information.

A number of themes are dealing with surface surveying. Data from 3D surface measurements and nivellement can be collected and analyzed according to various aspects. The often complex and confusing measurements can be subsumed by different aspects and criterias and than presented in a meaningful way.

The assignment to objects, that have been created using the theme "Surface objects" and the integrated GIS-engine, is very useful for quick and easy reviewing of the settlement of that special object. It is also possible to display the settlement along a freely defined profile, or of an certain group of measuring points, or even the tilting and relative movements of point pairs in specially designed charts.

Surface surveying

Oberflächenvermessung in 2DOCThe theme surface surveying is used to gather, document and visualize data from nivellement and 3D surface measurements. 2doc recognizes a series of formats for importing data from files but also provides the possibility for manual data entry and data management. Of course the center of attention are the various visualizations of the stored data. 2doc provides time movement diagrams for single points but is also able to group points in different ways and provides specialized visualizations for these groups (for more detail see description of themes …) Especially for shallow tunnels the possibility to display movements of measuring point on the surface together with subsurface points comes in handy and is a valuable tool for interpretation of the collected data. (subsurface measurement data is managed with the theme subsurface 3D Measurement). Each measuring point can be assigned any number of threshold levels that displayed along with the movement lines in diagrams.

Surface surveying objects

Oberflächenvermessung von Objekten in 2DOCWith this theme surface measuring points can be assigned to surface objects (i.e. buildings or other infrastructure) that are managed with the theme surface objects. This way groups of related measuring points are defined and measuring data for all points in those groups can be evaluated together. Besides time movement diagrams of all points belonging to a specific object 2doc provides an isoline presentation that enables a quick overview of the movement of an object.

Surface surveying profiles
This theme allows the definition of profiles (2D polylines in the projectregion) alongside which the data managed in the theme surface surveying can be visualized. Measuring points within a definable corridor around the profile line can automatically be assigned to be members of the profile. 2doc provides a special diagram to visualize movement of points (in X, Y, or Z direction) alongside the profile line at different measuring epochs.

Surface surveying point groups

Oberflächenvermessung in 2DOCBy the use of freely defined polygons (or alternatively through manual assignment) measuring points can be combined in measuring point groups and can then be evaluated together. Besides time/movement diagrams of all points belonging to a specific group, 2doc allows the visualization of point movements in isoline diagrams. These diagrams provide a quick overview of the overall situation. As with all other isoline diagrams in 2doc the user can define the interpolation algorithms used and set several parameters that influence the way the chosen algorithm acts.

Surface surveying point pairs

Through the definition of point pairs the user can evaluate the tilting of objects. Especially when driving tunnels beneath railway tracks or other sensible buildings evaluation of tilting can be an important information that influence driving speed, support measures used etc. For each defined point pair 2doc allows the definition of threshold levels that are also depicted in graphics and allow a quick interpretation of the data gathered.
